After the growth in demand for our organic skincare range,
we saw customer perception changing, eco and ethical products are no longer niche; instead they are now expected. That is why we have decided now is the time to launch our first range of changing bags and accessories made from organic cotton. With a slightly different handwriting to our main changing bag range, the softer aesthetic of these styles reflects the natural origins of the materials used.
What makes the new Organic Collection so special?
Our organic changing bag is made using organic cotton on the outside, we chose this material because we wanted to offer our growing number of eco-conscious customers a changing bag made from the most natural materials. Manufactured using minimal chemicals and creating less waste than an average bag we believe we have found a balanced between items that are good kind to planet yet are still functional enough for a life with babies. The inks and dyes used on the are AZO free, and materials are free from lead, cadmium and other harmful chemicals. Each style comes with an organic cotton baby changing mat. This was so important to us as most organic bags in the market only offer a mat just made from the generic lining material. We wanted to ensure the part of the bag your baby’s delicate skin touches, was the purest material available.
What about the features?
We still wanted the bag to be super functional so the convertible strap means you can wear the bag in multiple ways and the built-in stroller attachments mean you can also attach the bag to your pram without having to purchase separate clips. Inside the bag there is an insulated bottle holder to keep milk bottle upright and warm or cool for up to 4 hours and the wipe clean lining is also water and stain resistant so accidents can easily be cleaned up. While the change station comes with an easily accessible wipes dispenser pocket and well as a removable and machine washable memory foam mat.
Any other eco credentials?
Yes, the lining is made using materials manufactured from recycled plastic bottles certified by the Global Recycling Standard, reducing waste and helping to protect the planet. Although some might ask what we didn’t use organic cotton everywhere we had to make smart decisions to ensure the items were still functional for parents. Using organic cotton throughout would have made the pieces in the range very heavy, also by choosing a non-natural lining material it is less likely to be a breeding ground for germs and bacteria.
Is the collection suitable for vegans?
Vegan leather is used on trim and we only ever use vegetarian glues, so this bag is suitable for vegans.
What about the packaging?
Each bag comes in recycled and compostable packaging. We are constantly researching the most eco friendly packaging options to help reduce as much waste as possible. We also partner with carbon neutral couriers so you can be sure you purchased is delivered directly to you in a sustainable way.
How does Storksak ensure it is part of an ethical supply chain?
As always, this range has been manufactured with love and care, in factories that are audited for social compliance to ensure the workers are treated and paid fairly. We are really proud to say we have been working with our suppliers for over fifteen years and have worked along side them to work towards the a sustainable and ethical supply chain with a strong emphasis on the treatment of staff.
