As a parent, you probably use wipes all day, every day, so if your preparing. But when travelling with kids a good few packets of wipes should see you through your journey and any food splattered, runny noses and grubby hands.

2. Journey entertainment
If you are setting off on a long journey, to keep the ‘Are we nearly there yet?’ questions at bay, it is a smart idea to gather a selection of entertainment together! Grab their favourite toys, books, activity books and ensure all electronic devices are on charge the night before your journey.

3. That all important charger
If you are travelling don't forget to ensure you always have your devices fully charged up!(and for the journey home!)

4. Layers of clothing
Even if your holiday is taking you to warmer climates your journey may be quite chilly (especially on an air-conditioned plane) An extra layer may help to keep them warm and to sleep comfortably.

5. Medicines and first aid
You never know when you might need that emergency first aid kit! Or it may not always be easy to find a pharmacy so it’s always a good idea to pack an emergency first aid kit and those all essential medicines.

It is always handy to have some back-up snacks, especially if you have some picky eaters on-board. Home-made snacks are always a healthier option to bought snacks on your journey.

7. Plan Ahead
Before beginning your journey it is a smart idea to plan which activities you want to do, this will help to avoid any mid-journey disagreements and wasting time when getting to the places you want to see.

8. Spare Clothes
Wipes can sometimes only take you so far... If you’re travelling with younger children, in particular, it’s always a good idea to pack a spare set of clothes. On long journeys, you cannot always guarantee access to a toilet, so a spare set of underwear or plenty of nappies will always come in handy.

9. Water Bottle
Travelling is thirsty work, and depending on where it’s always important to keep little ones hydrated. You may not be able to take a bottle of water with you on a plane but an empty bottle is always handy when on the go.

10. Sun hat and sun cream
The weather can always be unpredictable, even if you think its particularly sunny, UV Rays can be harmful if you’re not prepared, so pack some sun hats and sun cream to avoid burns that may ruin your holiday.
