- Sausages of your choice (works best with chipolatas or frankfurters)
- 8oz Plain flour
- 3.5oz Butter
1. Cook your sausages of choice so that they are almost fully cooked (the thinner and smaller the more effective they are)
2. Whilst the sausages are cooking you can make the pastry. Firstly, rub the flour and butter together until it resembles breadcrumbs
3. Stir in a pinch of salt and then mix in 2-3 tbsp of water to create a dough texture
4. Knead the dough with your hands on a floured surface and then roll out flat
5. Cut the dough into thin strips (smaller than the width of your finger)
6. Once your sausages are almost cooked take them out of the oven to cool down slightly
7. Once cool enough to touch, wrap the dough strips around them to create the ‘mummified sausages’ look, leaving a gap where the ‘head of the mummy’ would be
8. Put the sausages back in the oven to finish cooking for approximately 15-20 minutes until the pastry is a golden brown
9. Once they are cooked and golden brown, take the sausages out and put them on a plate
10. To finish, put two small dots of mayonnaise in the gap at the top to create the eyes

- White Chocolate
- Lolly sticks
- Chocolate chips
1. Peel your bananas, cut them in half and push a lolly stick in the middle of each piece
2. Break into pieces, then put your white chocolate in the microwave to melt
3.Dip each banana into the white chocolate covering it in a layer of white chocolate
4. With your chocolate chips, make a face on the banana
5. These are then ready to eat warm OR for something a little different you could also put the banana ghosts onto a tray and place them in the freezer for at least 4 hours to make banana ice lollies!

- 6oz plain flour
- 4oz Butter
- 2oz Caster Sugar
- Red food colouring
- Almonds (shaped like finger nails)
1. Mix the butter and the sugar together.
2. Stir in the flour to make a paste (if the paste is soft, chill it in the fridge for about half an hour)
3. Cover your work surface in flour and gently roll out the paste until sufficiently thick (this will rise in the oven)
4. Cut into finger shaped strips and place on a baking tray
5. Bake in the oven for approximately 10-20 minutes until the shortbread is slightly golden at 180 degrees
6. Once cool enough to touch, take individual almonds and press one gently onto the end of each finger
7. Apply the red food colouring by pouring a tiny amount onto the base of the almond (not the far edge) and watch the colour spread under and over the almond. Decorate the fingers with red food colouring for a spooky effect.

Wycombe Rye Lido is a local landmark that has been providing summer fun and great memories since opening back in the 1950s. It is rated as one of Britain’s Top 20 Lidos by The Times (July 2016) with heated out-door pools, sauna, gym overlooking the pool with lots of fitness classes, making it quite unique.
Lido mum – ‘It is an outside space that’s beautiful in a town setting. The kids always have fun whether it’s hot or not because the pools are heated. Lovely grass area for a picnic too.’
Get that sea feeling without having to deal with the sand! The Jubilee pool is the largest sea water lido in the UK catering for all ages with a main pool and a child pool available. This lido may have taken a beating in storms during February 2014 but it remains as one of Cornwall’s most famous landmarks with stunning sea views and attractive art deco.
This unique river-fed pool is the largest pool in Devon within Dartmoor National Park, making it a perfect family day out during a camping trip in the moors. Enjoy a poolside snack in their cafe and sit back and relax in their peaceful deck chairs. This pool is partly heated by clever solar pool covers that ensure a delightful dip even if the weather isn't quite Mediterranean!
Lido mum ‘I love the lido because it gives a holiday feel when the weather is hot. My little boy loves it and could spend hours there, I usually bring a packed lunch and have a picnic!’
One of the oldest Lidos in the UK, this stylish Lido dates back to the Victorian era and was re-opened and refurbished in 2008 and is now a popular venue for every occasion from family swims and celebrations to a relaxing holiday. The Lido has an impressive pool for all swimmers and a state of the art spa and a highly rated restaurant to make your day into an experience to remember.
Another unique pool which has an added health benefit is the brine spring pool in Cheshire. It is a popular destination for all swimmers of all ages. Not only does this pool have natural medical benefits it is nicely warmed to 74F/ 22C making this pool a fun place to go even on a cool day!
This impressive Olympic sized pool is the focal point of Stonehaven’s summer days out, famous not just in Stonehaven but Aberdeen. Despite the large size of the pool it is fully heated to make your day out fun and warm even if the British weather is letting you down! The pool uses seawater giving this lido a fun holiday feel.

“I first bought a Storksak Jamie for my sister in 2009. They loved it and so when I found I was expecting in 2011 I asked my child’s father to buy me a Storksak for myself.
Little did I know that 5 years on I would still be using it every single day!
You see my son has autism (with sensory processing disorder, and social communication disorder,) as well as poor muscle strength, hypermobility syndrome, probable ADHD and a rare auto-inflamatory disease called PFAPA -a periodic fever syndrome.
It took a long time to get his diagnosis’ and we had many, many trips to A&E, many hospital admissions to different hospitals, occupational therapists and speech therapists….
Throughout it all the Storksak (called mummy’s brown bag) has been there providing him and myself with security!
It has so many useful pockets for dummies, medicines, wipes, trains, cars, apple juice, spare clothes (he was toilet trained just at 47 months but still required plenty of changes of clothes incase water drips on him or he spills any food or drink).
It has had communication cards clipped onto it to help him in nursery, and now it also houses my phone and tablet, Chargers and external batteries…..
It has been everywhere with us, including nursery daily, trips to Thomasland, and the trip we took to Finland. It has been sat on, jumped on, dragged on the ground, chewed on.. And it still looks good!
So Thank You! And as for my sister- well she used her bag for two years, put it away and has now used it another 2 years for baby number 2.
Well done on a great product!”
Thanks for your kind words Sorcha!
If you want to share your thoughts on our bags, please send us a message on facebook or email directly to firstname.lastname@example.org.
A walk in the park
Taking a walk in the park can be a great way to relax for yourself and your baby. They will love exploring the big world outside, opening their eyes to the adventure outside of the home. Even if your baby is too young to play, they will love meeting new people and enjoying the colours of the park, with the nice feeling of grass on their feet.
If your baby loves a bath, swimming is a great bonding activity for the both of you and is also a great way to meet other local mums with young babies too. As your baby grows, kicking will become one of his/hers favourite ways to exercise and stretch out their limbs. Also, the earlier your baby becomes familiar with the water the better as this will help them develop the skills for swimming.
Many mothers who struggle with low mood in the months following the birth of their baby have found exercise to be a key ingredient in lifting their mood and becoming happier! Strap your little one in securely to your stroller and go for a gentle jog to get your heart rate up, even 10 minutes a day of exercise can have surprising results in relieving stress.
Just grab a blanket, pack up some yummy treats, find a nice shady tree in a scenic park and enjoy! Bring along toys or even fun extras like bubbles to keep you little one entertained.
We all know just how relaxed seaside air can make us, so imagine the effects it will have on your baby! Bring a sun umbrella or tent with you for a bit of shade and enjoy the beautiful view in front of you. Don’t forget sunscreen! Sand is also fantastic for babies to play with and mould as they develop their motor skills.
Restorative yoga can be a great way of both bonding with your baby and toning your entire body! Lots of yoga studios offer classes designed for mum and baby that will stimulate the relaxation response in both of you.
Bring your babies high-chair for a meal outside in the garden, and you don’t have to worry about mess on the floor! You could also bring toys outside to help your baby get to know and explore new surfaces.
Treasure baskets are a amazing way of teaching young babies how to touch, recognise and taste different objects. Just put a random selection of things into a basket, making sure they are big enough not to swallow. Let your baby explore and investigate the interesting materials and enjoy the sensory delights of the basket.
If it is a warm day, set up a paddling pool under a shady tree and fill your paddling pool with 5-10cm of water so your baby can have a little splash around. Play with plastic cups and bath toys to keep them entertained. It is also very important to never leave your child unattended near the water and paddling pool!

Graphic patterned bags, stripes and bold prints ruled the runway at Kenzo, Stella McCartney and Dolce and Gabbana this season. We also introduced a stripe design to our Noa range for SS16; the Noa Stripe Fawn.
Bright, primary colours feature heavily on the catwalk for the new season, especially prominent in the Tommy Hillfiger collection. Rachel Riley is a British brand for children. Rachel’s design philosophy is rooted in her traditional lifestyle and draws inspiration from the forties, fifties and sixties with fine tailoring, beautiful hand smocking, hand embroidery and vintage-inspired prints designed by and exclusive to the brand. Rachel Riley designs, manufactures and retails clothing and accessory collections four times per year for boys, girls, babies and ladies.
Founder of the brand Rachel Riley worked as a model in Paris, New York & London before setting up her own company twenty years ago, when she had children of her own, as she likes to hand sew, embroider and knit.
The brand came to mainstream prominence in spring 2014 when they were honoured to see Prince George wearing their sailboat smocked dungarees on his first Official Engagement and a striped polo and pocket shorts on his 2nd Official Engagement, as well as several moss stitch cardigans on his first trio overseas.
Rachel Riley’s collections are classic in style, and draw inspiration from the forties, fifties and sixties, with fine tailoring, hand smocking & embroidery, and beautiful soft fabrics. They design their own exclusive prints, inspired by Rachel’s personal collection of vintage fabrics that she has been collecting since her teenage years.
Our Rachel Riley competition will run until midnight GMT on Sunday 13th December, with a new competition starting on Monday morning. Like our Facebook page to keep up to date with all of our offers and competitions.
The Christmas songs are on and we’re chomping down on mince pies in the Storksak office, so we decided it’s time to spread a little Christmas cheer to our lovely Facebook fans and treat you to a four week giveaway!
Our week 1 prize is an absolutely beautiful cotton cashmere baby blanket from Bonnie Mob. The super-soft blanket with all-over bunny print will keep baby cosy in the cold, and makes a very stylish addition to your pram to boot.
Bonnie Mob’s story began in 2005, founded by knitwear designer and new mum Tracey Samuel. Although Tracey didn’t know much about parenthood back then, she did have an impressive career in knitwear design and an imagination built for creating new fabrics and textures. Tracey set about designing modern, colourful & distinctive baby-knits with the expectation that you should ‘Buy once, buy well, pass it on’. Bonnie baby was born: Practical, tough-wearing, spirited baby clothes to be loved in, played in and passed around.
The brand’s collection draws from Tracey’s own childhood memories of growing up in the 70’s and 80’s; romping through the Scottish countryside, dancing to Abba on the radio and drawing endless felt-tip pen masterpieces. From the wild outdoors, creatures pop out of the designs: Mr. Banks the Badger, peeping rabbits and padding paw prints. The beautiful collection retains a modern and unique look whilst drawing from retro inspiration.
Week 1’s competition will run until Sunday, and the winner will be announced on Monday 7th December. We are running a new competition every week for four weeks until the end of December, with royal favourite Rachel Riley the next brand up for grabs, featuring in week 2 of our competition. Visit our Facebook page for more details.

The seventies vibe is here again for a second season, this time even bigger than before. Storksak is adding to our classic boho range with the beautiful Ellena – forgoing more extreme detailing seen around the high street such as fringing, suede and patchwork, for a bag that hits the trend but can be used for years to come.
Going grown up
Street style looks have dominated the catwalk in the last few seasons, and as a reaction designer like Marc Jacobs are bringing ladylike back this Autumn. Our sleek and structured Lucinda bag in tan is perfect for bringing a bit of stylish sophistication to your day time look and Catherine in black leather is a compact and chic design, perfect to transition your look from day time to evening.
Casual clothing meets sharp tailoring has created new trend ‘Athleisure’. A number of brands like Paco Rabanne, Public School,Cedric Charlier and Carven all showcased this look for AW15, and as it hits the high street in a big way you can expect to see more in the next spring/summer season.
A classic Storksak bag, the Tania Bee in graphite, fits this sportsluxe look perfectly. The Tania Bee is a practical, on trend design with a sporty vibe and stylish metallic finish.
Bold patterns could be seen all over the catwalk this season. Stand out with a Storksak original – the new Nina Teardrop Navy is designed exclusively in-house from our London head office; a pretty blue and white pattern complemented perfectly with tan coloured trim and handles. Whilst currently out of stock, our Nina Antalya Grey is a great alternative; another lovely printed design in the range.
Take a look at our full Autumn/Winter 2015 range, as well as our classic styles, here.
We are so excited to announce that we won ‘Best Changing Bag’ at this year’s ‘Little London Awards’ for our fabulous Noa Grey bag.
Last Tuesday we celebrated the Little London Awards 2015 at the beautiful Hurlingham Club. Filled with over 200 people from the industry, model Caprice Bourret presented the awards, and it was a wonderful chance to meet other people working in our field.
All the baby, toddler and kids brands were collated by nominees into different categories, with prizes awarded to the best of each. We were up against some amazing brands, so we are so grateful that our lovely Noa bag was chosen as the winner.
The Noa bag was introduced to our extensive collection for the SS15 season, and has been a big hit ever since, with leather versions and a larger range of colours introduced this Autumn.
Features which make this super-versatile bag stand out include a wipe clean changing mat, side insulated bottle pocket and interior and external pockets. Perfectly organised, The Noa also includes a handy mini-organiser bag, featuring six pockets and an internal compartment which can be used as a stand alone to carry all your basic essentials.

The Catherine in black leather and black nylon are timeless additions to the stylish Catherine range. The black leather is crafted in luxurious, soft leather whilst the black nylon option is in a hard wearing fabric. The minimal Catherine is a design that will look chic for years to come.
For the fashion conscious mum, Brooke is the second rucksack style to be added to the Storksak range. The clean and sleek shape, available in both black and grey with contrasting tan detail, is packed full of useful functions, leaving parents with free hands to care for baby.
The Nina is Storksak’s ultimate bag for pattern lovers, with every unique design created exclusively in-house at the Storksak London office. The Nina Teardrop Navy features a pretty triangle-based design complemented by contrasting tan details.
The Noa is Storksak’s bag for the perfectly organised parent. Already available in a choice of five colours, the brand is introducing two further, dark colour options for the winter months; Black and Bordeaux.
The Lucinda Tan is an ideal every day bag. The perfect partner to casual denim, the lovely neutral colour works equally well for both winter and summer months.

It can be easy to fall into the habit of relying on a few faithful dishes when cooking for your family during a busy week, but it’s great to try out something different and introduce your children to new flavours. A favourite recipe from our Marketing Executive Emily, why not try this quick, easy and delicious risotto.
Add or change the ingredients to suit fussy eaters, and disguise vegetables by chopping them finely so they blend into your tomato sauce! You could also add a little chorizo or bacon to create a meat dish. Let us know if your family enjoy it, and we’d love you to share your favourite risotto dishes with us.
2 red peppers
1 chili (optional)
2 garlic cloves
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
400g arborio risotto rice
1 can chopped tomatoes
1 vegetable stock cube
Handful of fresh basil
A tablespoon of mixed herbs
A grating of parmesan
1 pack, or vine, of cherry tomatoes
Method (serves 4):
1. Finely chop your peppers, onion and garlic, and fry on a gentle heat in your pan
2. Meanwhile: roast your tomatoes on a baking tray, drizzled with olive oil and season with pepper, for about 15 minutes.
3. Add your risotto rice, fry for a minute, then tip in your can of chopped tomatoes, dried herbs and stock cube
4. Gradually add boiling water to the pan as it is soaked up by the risotto rice, until your rice is cooked (about 20 minutes)
5. Serve with torn basil leaves, grated parmesan and the roasted tomatoes

This Mother’s Day we launched our collaboration with charity ‘Women and Children First’, who work to educate mothers in third-world communities on keeping themselves and their children safe and healthy, and avoid preventable, often life threatening illnesses.
We asked you to share something with us that you wish you had known before having your baby. We have been overwhelmed by the huge amount of entries and it is wonderful to hear about your experiences as new parents.
Some of our favourite entries and most valuable advice includes:
Leanne Bell ‘Other parents are super competitive – It doesn’t matter that their child rolls, crawls, has teeth etc before yours. Your son/daughter will develop at their own pace – cherish every moment, it goes by far too quickly’
Victoria Cunniff ‘I wish I known how much I would change as a person – I definitely don’t feel like the ‘me’ I was before I had my daughter’
Lucy Blore ‘I wish I knew why women didn’t always wear makeup and have immaculate hair. It’s because they are no doubt mums who never have time for themselves because they always put their children first I am now one of those women, and my appearance is the last thing I think about in the morning!’
Emma Dorman ‘I wish I’d realised how much my priorities would change and how I would know more fear and find more strength and resilience to do anything to give my children the best possible outcomes in life.’
Jenny Williams ‘Don’t aim to be the perfect parent, aim to be the best parent you can be.’
And the one that we here at Storksak of course agree with:
Gaby Jones ‘Always carry a well organised changing bag so you are ready for all baby related situations!
We have chosen a winner, Danielle Davis, whose simple advice ‘Don’t wish the years away; embrace every milestone’ we loved, and summed up the feelings of many of our lovely parents. Whilst those baby years are busy and difficult, your little one won’t be tiny for long and it is a special time to treasure. Our beautiful new Noa yellow is now on its way to Danielle. With handy organiser interior bag, the yellow colour is perfectly sunny for the summer months – a practical yet stylish choice for holidays, as well as an ideal everyday bag.
As difficult, challenging and tiring as Motherhood can be, all our entrants were in agreement that it is an amazing experience that can’t be compared to anything else in life.
We know how challenging new motherhood can be here in the Western world, despite having health visitors, doctors, nurses, family and friends to turn to for help when times get difficult. But imagine how terrifying life could be if you were living in poverty, lacking the basic information to do the right things to keep yourself and your baby alive and well.
That is why here at Storksak we have chosen to support ‘Women and Children First‘, a small yet invaluable charity who work to prevent mothers and babies from dying during pregnancy, childbirth or in the first few days and months of life, in some of the world’s poorest communities. Their work improves a mother’s chance of surviving pregnancy by up to 45%.
The charity does this by running self-help community women’s groups where women are given the information and knowledge they need to keep themselves and their babies safe, and where they can receive good quality health information and care from properly qualified professionals.
There are various ways for you to help this amazing charity, visit their website for more information. Buy the Storksak Noa Yellow on our website and £5 from every sale goes directly to the charity.
We are very proud to be supporting amazing charity ‘Women and Children First’ beginning with new Spring Summer 2015 bag the Noa Yellow this Mother’s Day. This wonderful charity work to educate women in poor and ostracized communities in the developing world, helping them to care for their baby and themselves.
The company’s mission is to prevent baby and Mother’s death from treatable or preventable illnesses, so here at Storksak we are doing what we can to help them reach that goal. If you would like to read more about their work, or make a donation, head over to the Women and Children First website.
The winner will be notified on 16.03.15. This competition is in no way endorsed by, or affiliated with, Facebook. Open to UK residents only.
Last week was a rather exciting departure from the office for Storksak – we jumped on the Eurostar and had our first ever photo shoot overseas!
Founder and designer Melanie, along with Sherina, Jo, Tania and Emily, all took the trip to Brussels, home of not only wonderful chocolate, beer and Art Nouveau architecture, but also our glamorous model Charlotte Collard.
Marking a change from our usual lovely North London locations, we chose a beautiful apartment in the Belgian city as the backdrop for our upcoming range of changing bags.
Model Charlotte joined us for her second shoot with the company, as did little baby Bella, who has grown considerably since our Spring/Summer 2015 photo shoot six months ago!
It was an early start for everybody, and we made the most of the beautiful space and high ceilings in the lovely building and took plenty of great shots! Baby Bella behaved impeccably throughout the day; the picture of professionalism already at just eleven months old.
As for the bags…well you will have to wait and see. We can reveal there will be new additions to our Nina and Lucinda range, as well as some completely new styles to update our ever expanding range, in a versatile range of colours.
The big, romantic day of the year is over and we hope all of our wonderful fans were spoilt rotten on Saturday!
Our competition winner has been chosen – Amanda Anderson, an expectant mummy who we will be sure to use her pretty pink changing bag all summer. Amanda is the lucky recipient of not only a Storksak bag from our new Spring/Summer 2015 collection – the Noa – but also a beautiful bouquet of luxurious roses.
The stunning Valentine’s flowers were delivered by our friends Appleyard London, a lovely florist who believes that everyone should have a little luxury in their life. Where possible Appleyard source their flowers from British growers and have designed their packaging to produce as little waste as possible. All of their beautiful bouquets are hand-tied at their UK floristry centre with love and care by their team of experienced florists, ready for your special flower delivery. We can’t think of a more lovely company to turn to when treating someone special!
The second part of our lovely prize, our Noa bag, is a completely new style for Spring/Summer 2015. The changing bag is available in a choice of five colours – from bright and summery yellow to feminine powder pink and blue, as well as neutral grey and navy. The perfectly practical baby bag boasts a chic and simple single colour finish, complemented by a co-ordinating lining, perfect for summer days out with family. The coated canvas fabric is wipe clean inside and out, meaning your lovely new bag needn’t become grubby!
The Noa also includes a handy mini-organiser bag, featuring six pockets and an internal compartment. It is perfect for keeping everything in an easy to find place, and can even be taken out of your bag to fill with essentials for a quick trip to the shops. The Noa is finished off with stylish silver hardware, detachable long strap, and luxurious leather handles.
Here at Storksak we love to treat our fans. Look out for our next competition via Facebook, Twitter, Insagram and Pinterest pages!

Nowadays you can have just about anything personalised: from Coca-Cola bottles and cupcakes to jewellery and prints of your favourite love songs.
The most important thing is to think about what your partner likes and to reflect that in their gift, and a thoughtfully worded card and a romantic meal will go a long way to let them know you care. True Love comes from the heart, not the wallet…

How to follow the social butterfly that is December, her parties back-lit by curve-flattering fairy lights? That would be January, a bulging trouser button of a month now synonymous with dieting and denial!
The harsh truth is that whatever New Year resolutions people make, around a third of them will be broken by the end of January, so if the only “Resolve” you have is the one you mix with water to cure a hangover, you can understand how they feel!
Rather than setting ourselves up to fail by giving up too many of the things that make us happy, why not pledge to do something nice instead? Lorraine’s New Year resolution was to bathe more, thankfully this wasn’t a hygiene issue, she just recognised the need to have more “me” time! Frankly we could all be kinder to ourselves, whether that is meeting up with friends or luxuriating in a bubble bath.
The one thing that would massively improve our quality of life would be to get more sleep, and anyone who tells you that they sleep like a baby probably doesn’t have one! 6 out of 10 adults in the UK regularly don’t get enough sleep which we know can lead to medical problems in later life and yet we will happily skip sleep for the latest box set or bestseller.
So thank you NYE we had a ball and acknowledge that the party is over for another year, but we won’t be tricked into promising to lose a stone or to give up our Sauvignon Blanc. For 2015 we are resolving to slip on a cashmere eye mask, turn off the tech and hibernate until February!
The fun image-sharing platform Pinterest is a great place to go for inspiration for fashion, food, baby and everything lovely, and is one of our favourite places to be online!
Follow ‘Storksak London’ to see our lifestyle and product imagery, as well as behind the scenes peeks at our photo shoots and life around the office. We share everything that we at Storksak love; our favourite recipes, fashion, chic nursery décor ideas and more via our Pinterest account.
From now until 28th January 2015 we are running our first ever Pinterest competition, ‘Storksak Does Lunch’. We will be giving away a selection of five of our stylish, insulated lunch bags and bottles – the perfect addition to our to your Storksak changing bag, for keeping your and baby’s lunch warm or cool while you’re on the move.
To take part in our competition simply follow us: www.pinterest.com/storksak, create a new board called ‘Storksak does Lunch, then simply pin our competition graphic and your favourite lunch recipes to the board.
Good luck and happy pinning!

Whether you’re looking for your perfect beach bag or a changing bag that doubles up for a day at the office, Storksak has what you’re looking for with their latest Spring Summer 2015 collection. As always, there’s a place for everything and everything in its place with Storksak.
Melanie recently bumped into a friend who had to give up her job as a scientist as she couldn’t reconcile family life with the demands of her career. This got Suzi and Melanie thinking back to when they came up with the idea of Storksak bags over 12 years ago, of how they wanted to build a business that could be a success without them having to sacrifice too much precious family time.
A decade on it’s not straightforward – and it’s definitely still a juggle and a struggle – but they have been able to support staff members who want to work irregular hours from home and some studio staff work part time to allow them to do the school run.
Forget about having it all, it’s all about having a life.
Having a baby takes parents on a joyful and scary roller-coaster of emotions; throw in a job with a 45 minute commute at either end of the day after a night of broken sleep with a fractious baby, and it’s not difficult to see how our mid 30’s can be one of the most stressful times of life.
So what we can do is surround ourselves with a network of people who make our lives that little bit better: a supportive partner, close family, friends with shared experiences and, hopefully, a sympathetic employer. This is our ‘Clan of Care’. The people who support and allow us to work, to enjoy our family and simply to be.
We strive to put quality, care and thoughtfulness into each Storksak product and we extend that same courtesy to our staff so that you can be secure in the knowledge that your Storksak bag is gorgeous – inside and out!
We have a rather special prize for today’s competition – a set of Original Ping Pong as it was when it was invented by Jaques of London!
Ping Pong was invented in 1901 by John Jaques III, and the current generation of the family are still making beautiful, traditional toys and games today. Established in 1795, Jaques of London is the oldest sports and games manufacturer in the world. Throughout their long and distinguished history Jaques has been responsible for inventing some of the world’s most popular sports and family games including Croquet, Ping Pong, Ludo, Tiddledy Winks and Happy Families. The company is still owned and run by direct descendants of the original company founder Thomas Jaques.
Jaques of London has relaunched Original Ping Pong for Christmas 2014, recreating Ping Pong as it was when it was first invented. This is set to be one of the most original and timeless games of the season.
The set, which includes two bats, three balls and one net with posts and clamps, made to fit all tables, is an exact replica of the original hand-crafted Ping Pong set launched in 1901. The two steam-bent bats have solid wooden frames and handles and are covered with the finest grade vellum, which is glued and hand-stitched into place. The vellum creates a drum effect, which produces a very satisfactory “ping pong” sound. The antique-finished wooden posts incorporate two solid brass clamps. The net, hand-made from natural cotton, can be adjusted in size simply by wrapping it around the posts.
Original Ping Pong isn’t just great for kids, but is also the ideal after dinner party game. It is designed to be played on any table – including dining room tables! Once supper has been served, drinks have been quaffed and coffee cups have been cleared, simply attach the net to the posts, screw the solid brass clamps (both cushioned by soft foam pads to avoid table damage) onto the table and let the games begin.
Original Ping Pong is available to buy now from Jaques of London’s website for £59.99.
here are still two days of our ’12 days of Christmas’ competition left. Visit our Facebook page at 10am tomorrow for our next riddle, to be in with a chance of winning the 11th day’s wonderful prize!

Today’s competition prize is French design classic and baby essential Sophie the Giraffe teether, the ideal Christmas present for a new baby.
Sophie the Giraffe was invented by Monsieur Rampeau in France in the 1960s, who was an expert in transforming sap from the hevea tree using the rotationalmoulding of rubber as a toy-making concept. He came up with the idea of designing a giraffe as the exotic wildlife figure would be a first on the market, and her size and shape is perfect for a baby’s small hands to grasp.
Sophie the Giraffe looked exactly the same then as she does today, and went into production on Thursday 25th May 1961. The toy quickly became an essential new baby gift in France, but wouldn’t become widely used around the rest of the world until recent years.
What makes this particular teething toy so special is a combination of appealing looks and squeaky noise, safe and healthy natural rubber and dyes, and the shape, colour and
texture that helps baby grip and relieve the pain of their gums. All sensory simulation is covered with Sophie – hearing, taste, touch, smell and sight.
Give the gift that combines practicality and fun for babies this Christmas with Sophie

We have a rather special gift to give on the third day of Christmas; a stunning girl’s dress from a fellow luxury London-based brand, Rachel Riley.
This beautiful brand has been creating adorable, traditional children’s clothes for the past twenty years, however they are particularly on everybody’s radar since Prince George was pictured wearing their sailboat smocked dungarees on his first official engagement in spring this year.
Rachel Riley is an award-winning brand based in Marylebone. Rachel’s design philosophy is rooted in her traditional lifestyle and draws inspiration from the forties, fifties and sixties with fine tailoring, beautiful hand smocking, hand embroidery and vintage-inspired prints designed by and exclusive to the brand.
The company designs, manufactures and retails clothing and accessory collections four times a year for boys, girls, babies and ladies. The exquisite party slippers are hand-made in Rachel’s own workshop in France.
The brand has two stores in London and a store on Madison Avenue in New York, as well as being stocked in department and independent stores all over the world, including Selfridges and Harrods, Bergdorf Goodman and Saks Fifth Avenue in the USA and Takashimaya in Japan.
Today’s prize is the perfect Christmas gift for a little girl who loves to dress up – the beautiful ‘Dress up Princess Gown’ is RRP £139, and is made with layers of ivory net, with a silver ribbon at the waist, and cream and silver heart shaped buttons to fasten at the back. We all would have loved to have had a dress this pretty when we were children!
Beautiful baby shoes that are created to support and be comfortable are difficult to find, so when Hug and Hatch told us that they had a gorgeous pair of kid’s shoes to give away for our ’12 days of Christmas’ competition we knew you would all be delighted!
Hug and Hatch is a ‘home-grown’ British brand designed by Laura and Lisa, both footwear designers and mums. After years of struggling to find styles that were individual but had the quality they were looking for at an affordable price they decided to start ‘Hug and Hatch’.
Hug & Hatch, the British toddler and kids footwear brand, puts passion and quality at the heart of its designs. The shoes not only look adorable but are designed to provide the best possible support for children’s feet.
We are offering the lucky winner of today’s competition a beautiful pair of Hugo silver ankle boots from Hug and Hatch, worth RRP £68. The crepe effect sole boot is designed to provide support for baby’s delicate feet and there is a pewter suede upper with silver suede toe cap and pink spotted elastic. Thoughtful features include the balloon trim back loop, there to help you put the shoe on your child. The sole also features a Hug and Hatch balloon emboss.

The Tote Python will now be available for an impressive £35 – the perfect stocking filler for a mum-to-be. The Tania Bee burnt orange is a Storksak classic, and our most sporty design. In contrast, for a very ladylike look, the Isabella pebble is a pretty and feminine style, smart enough to use after baby has outgrown the need for a changing bag.
The Olivia Tweed is a chic and simple design in perfectly wintry fabric, and last but not least lovely Nina Print Tan is the perfect choice for pattern lovers, wonderfully decorative and designed exclusively in-house by our London team.

Looking for some guilt-free additions to your wardrobe?
Here at Storksak changing bags we are very excited to support this worthy cause; Blogzine ‘Selfish Mother’ has launched the MOTHER collection to help raise money for women affected by war.
The stylish mini-collection includes three tees (black, blue and grey) and three sweatshirts (black, moss and grey). The range features a distinctive MOTHER print and all items are created using Organic Cotton at Fairwear certified factories (meaning no unfair labour).
Molly Gunn, fashion journalist and editor of Selfish Mother launched the range to show solidarity for the global sisterhood. She says: “Us mothers in the Western world have got it damn good compared to other women around the world, who are trying to bring up kids in poor conditions, without adequate shelter, food, money or support! We have the power to help other women and mothers – it’s time to share the love!”
All profits from sales of Mother designs go to Women for Women International – an amazing charity that helps women in eight war-torn regions rebuild their lives through training programmes. This means £15 from the sale of each t-shirt and £20 from each sweat shirt goes straight to this amazing charity.
Since 1993, Women for Women International has helped nearly 420,000 marginalised women in countries affected by war and conflict. They directly work with women in eight countries, offering support, tools, and access to life-changing skills to move from crisis and poverty to stability and economic self-sufficiency. Head to their website http://www.womenforwomen.org.uk for more information.
Women for Women International say: “We really can’t thank you enough for choosing to support Women for Women International through this inspiring project, which is so in keeping with what we at WfWI believe about the importance of solidarity and the power of bringing women together.”
The MOTHER collection feels good to wear in more ways than one…

On Saturday 20th September the girls at Storksak got together and we prepared to get covered in mud as we ran the Race for Life Pretty Muddy Run in Finsbury park!
We were raising money for our amazing accountant Jo Naji’s brave little boy Zak, who has battled through a rare form of brain cancer, Medulloblastioma.
In September last year, when Zak had a lot of headaches, Jo took him to A&E. It was discovered after undergoing a CT scan that Zak had a brain tumour. After undergoing his first surgery, tragically it was discovered that Zak’s cancer had spread to his spine, and he had to endure more surgery to help the fluid in his brain.
After three lots of surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy, it’s wonderful that Zak is now free of his cancer.
We are so pleased that Zak is now in remission, but there are around 500 children that are diagnosed with brain cancer every year. The lack of funding in place for paediatric cancers means that if Zak relapses there is no further treatment available to him in the UK.
The Brain Tumour Charity is the UK’s largest dedicated funder of research into brain tumours, to help more children and adults like Zak. Currently only 2% of Cancer Research in the UK is dedicated to brain tumours, so it’s time for us to do what we can to help!
We had an amazing day, made extra special by having Zak himself there to cheer us on, and his two sisters joining us all for the race!
So far we have raised an amazing £1,330, thanks to the generosity of friends and family. Our Just Giving page is still open so pleasedonate to this amazing cause if you can.
Spring/Summer 2015 is sure to be an exciting season for Storksak as the luxury changing bag brand introduces three completely new styles to their much-loved range – the Catherine, Ariel and Noa. Storksak is also bringing a striking teal addition to the popular Lucinda collection, perfect for the summer months.
It’s always great to see our lovely changing bags in the pages of glossy magazines, and so here we are sharing our proud moments with you!
Storksak has had a very busy few months of press coverage, and we’re delighted to see how much journalists and loyal customers love our changing bags.
Our bags have been seen everywhere recently, from big fashion and lifestyle magazines like Grazia and Irish Tatler, to top baby publications like Gurgle baby magazine and Baby & Me. Lots of our styles including the Tania Bee, Bailey, Ellena, Aubrey, Ashley, Sofia and Kate Patent have all been featured.
Here’s a selection of some of our favourite press bits, as featured in parenting magazines over the past year…
Gurgle Magazine, May 2014
Gurgle is championing our Ellena as the perfect subtle and understated changing bag for new mums.
Baby and Me, May 2014
We were delighted to see Baby and Me include our Kate Patent in their ‘Changing bags we love’ selection.
Baby and Me, November 2013
Our Ashley Blue is included in the top pick of changing bags for new dads.
Parenting Magazine, April 2013
The Elizabeth is included in the ‘Hot Mama’ list, as a stylish and functional choice for Moms on the go.
Angels and Urchins, March 2014
The Bailey weekend bag is featured in Angels and Urchins in ‘Pregnancy and Baby News’ as a good choice for a weekend or hospital bag.
Storksak changing bags are great for keeping organised and carrying your baby’s essentials, including nappies, wipes, bottles and dummies, alongside your own belongings.
There are so many different sizes, shapes and colours of changing bag available in every fabric and at every price point however, choosing the one that’s right for you might seem overwhelming.
It’s worth taking your time when choosing your Storksak, as having the right changing bag by your side can make life so much easier as a new mum. To help you out we’ve covered a few main points for you to consider, to help you start thinking about what you actually want and need in a changing bag:
A sumptuous leather changing bag is the ultimate luxury choice, but if you want something a little more casual looking, are keeping to a budget, or perhaps won’t buy leather for ethical reasons, Storksak offers a variety of alternatives.
The Bobby and Poppy bags are made in a high quality quilted nylon, which is designed to be hard wearing and withstand every day use. A few of our bags are also cotton canvas, which works particularly well for unisex styles such as the Ashley and Bailey.
If you are looking for a classic leather design the Elizabeth, Sofia or new Lucinda bag are some of our loveliest leather choices, and will double up as handbags or work bags when baby is out of nappies, and you need to carry a laptop rather than a changing mat.
Size is a tricky issue when it comes to changing bags. As a new mother you have a lot to carry so will probably look for a bag larger than the handbag you previously carried. However, choose a bag that’s too big and it becomes heavy and tempting to over-fill.
If you have twins or need to carry a lot about with you one of our larger bags, such as the Bailey or Tote might be your best choice.
If you breast feed and dont need to carry bottles, formulas etc a smaller bag might be more suitable. Some of our slightly smaller styles include the Elizabeth, which is quite a slim design, and the Helena.
Ease of Cleaning
Your new bag needs to be practical and easy to clean. All Storksak bags have wipe clean linings, but if you choose a synthetic style many are also wipe clean on the outside too.
It is possible to clean leather bags as well, and a variety of products can be used to do so. It is best to test on a less visible area first however, as some leather cleaners could discolour your bag. Read our care instructions for more detailed information.
Carrying a bottle
An important component of the baby-changing bag is a holder or section to keep your baby’s bottle out of the way, clean and temperature regulated. Storksak integrate an insulated bottle holder into each bag in a variety of ways, either with a removable bottle holder bag, or a zipped, concealed bottle pocket.
You may prefer the pocket as a part of your bag as a neat option for keeping your baby’s bottle in place. Bags with an insulated pocket include the Lucinda, Tote and Jamie. If you plan to use your bag for work also, you might prefer a design with a removal bottle holder, such as the Caroline or Nina.
To go girly or keep it sensible and unisex…?
If you’re a girly girl and you are going to be the only one carrying your changing bag, you can go all out – the bright Bobby Magenta, Tote in Diamonds Black or Bailey in Coral are all pretty, feminine fashion choices which are sure to get you noticed.
However, if your partner is also going to be using your changing bag, making him carry around your bright pink Storksak might not be a popular decision! Luckily we offer a range of stylish unisex designs, including the Ashley in black or blue, Bailey in black or navy, or the celebrity dad’s favourite, Jamie in espresso or black.

There is nothing more important than feeling comfortable and supported during the changes your body goes through during pregnancy and early motherhood, so luckily Amoralia has the products you need as well as plenty of practical advice for choosing the right items.
Amoralia was born seven years ago after its creator Jules noticed a gap in the market for beautiful yet functional underwear for pregnant women and new mothers – much as Storksak was created when our founders Mel and Suzi realized the need for a stylish yet functional baby changing bag. For this reason our two brands are perfect partners!
Amoralia is constantly striving to further their expertise through research, feedback from Mums, testing and tweaking, so it’s not surprising they have won the UK Fashion & Export award for lingerie and beach fashion, as well as coming runner up in the Blueprint business planning awards back in 2005.

Congratulations to Katy Stanley, who sent us an adorable collage of her baby daughter Sophie’s first summer, enjoying her family’s favourite day out activity – a picnic.
If you are looking for some inspiration for special family days during the warm months, take a look at some of our competition entrant’s top tips…
My family loves picnics in the summer. This year is our little Sophie’s first summer, and on Sunday she had her first ever picnic at the fun fair, with tractor rides and arts and crafts for her big sister Amy!
York! We were there last month with our 7-month-old son for a few days. It was wonderful and full of such friendly people! We live in Glasgow and are lucky enough to have the commonwealth games coming up this summer, so there will be plenty of free events happening to keep kids entertained too.
I love Camber Sands – it’s close enough to big towns for there be plenty to do, but secluded enough to be able to really relax. There is a gorgeous beach and nice open spaces.
Funfair rides. As much I love taking my little girl to the zoo I don’t have the money to keep going! So we always take her on walks somewhere different instead and she loves exploring, plus it’s a great day out with the family and some quality bonding time.
Snow tubing is great fun! Playing football in the garden as a family is also one of our favourite summer day games.
Emma Ann Hunt
You can’t beat a day out at the seaside. Buckets and spades, sand in your toes, chips in a cone and ice cream make our perfect family day out!
We just adore going on a family trip to the beach. It can cost as much or as little as you choose. We often visit Joss Bay, near Broadstairs, as the water quality is great and it’s a nice safe and enclosed bay for little ones.
We always take a big picnic (watch out for the pesky seagulls though!), sports equipment like bats and balls, a blow up paddling pool (so the children can still splash about when not in the sea), kites, inflatables, buckets and spades and some nets to go to the rock pools when the tide is out.
With all this, you can really arrive early in the morning and not leave until around 6pm, but have had a really lovely, fun and varied day out. There’s nothing like the sea air and a bit of sunshine to make for the perfect day, wherever you are along the coast.
It’s time to look forward to crisp leaves under foot and cold, frosty mornings; the Autumn/Winter Storksak collection has landed!
The lovely Storksak range has been updated with a luxurious new tote style, the Lucinda, and on-trend updates to many of our existing popular lines. All are now available for pre-order.
The Lucinda Tote is perhaps our most modern and sleek style yet. Created to withstand regular use, the minimal hardware and contemporary lines make for a wonderfully versatile design. The bag will be available at an accessible price point and in a choice of three beautiful colours.
Storksak’s Senior Designer Sherina has said: “We wanted to create a leather tote with a difference – filling a gap in the market for a baby bag which can also be used as a tote. By being adventurous with pattern we have made use of the bag’s asymmetrical style to create a large external pocket. The Lucinda is a modern, minimalist design. Crafted in lightweight, hard-wearing leather, it’s perfect for everyday use.”
The Lucinda offers all of the features you will need as a new parent; side zip with thermo-insulated bottle pocket, comfortable leather shoulder strap with padded shoulder section, secure top zip, a number of elasticated inside pockets and padded changing mat. You can choose from classic Black, a lovely neutral Taupe, or add a pop of colour to your wardrobe with Sunset Orange.
Storksak favourites such as our Poppy, Bobby, Tote, Ashley and Bailey bag are also available in new colour and pattern options for the Autumn/Winter season.
The Poppy and Bobby now come in a sophisticated charcoal colour. Premium-looking and neutral enough to go with most colours, charcoal has been chosen as a more interesting alternative to grey and softer option than classic black. The Bobby in Magenta is perfect for the colour-lovers amongst you; the beautiful bright shade will warm up your winter look and complement most neutrals.
Our classic tote design has been updated with a monochrome theme for the winter. On trend for the season, the interesting, versatile print is the perfect addition to your winter wardrobe.
Finally, the Ashley and Bailey bags are now available in black with tan detail; a great unisex options suitable for dads as well as mums. Stylish as well as practical, they feature a water resistant finish.
View our nine beautiful new Autumn/Winter bags on our website now – available to order immediately for late August delivery.

Many of our employees at Storksak are parents themselves who agree that nothing can be more natural and enjoyable than having a baby. But the reality can be very different in some less fortunate regions of the world, such as Africa and Asia.
Here in the UK the news that a baby is due is something to celebrate, bringing family and friends closer. Unfortunately, in Africa this is not always the case. One young woman in Malawi described her impending birth as, “like having one foot in the grave”. This is heartbreaking for us to hear. Women and Children First (UK) is a charity that believes empowering women with knowledge about their pregnancy and wellbeing can save lives- a value in which Storksak believe is of great importance.
Women and Children First train community leaders in Asian and African villages to establish women’s groups – think of the NCT here in the UK – so that vital knowledge can be passed on to pregnant women, helping them to identify their most important problems and plan how to address them with their own resources.
For every woman who dies, at least twenty more suffer complications, leaving them with lifelong disability and pain. The work of Women and Children First (UK) is supported entirely by donations. Every penny counts toward helping to improve the lives of women and children.
So far, the charity has achieved up to 45 per cent reduction in newborn mortality in two years. On December 8th this year, WCF presented their new campaign which aims to help raise awareness of the plight of women and children and to encourage listeners to dig into their pockets and donate this Christmas.
£30 will fund six women to attend a group for a year. For further information on Women and Children First (UK) and how to donate, please visit it’s website: www.womenandchildrenfirst.org.uk.
We at Storksak have supported Women and Children First for over two years, and on Mothers Day 2012 we began a partnership with the charity and announced our popular Tania Bee Changing Bag as Storksak’s way of contributing to the cause. For every Tania Bee sold on our website, we will donate £5 to WCF. We hope you can support us in our partnership with this fantastic charity, educating and helping mothers in places less fortunate take care of their new born babies.
We’re thrilled to see the Storksak Elizabeth and Jamie, both winners of the prestigious ‘Best Changing Bag’ Junior Design Award, featured on the commute this morning in the Metro newspaper. Which Storksak do you think Kate would covet?
After much anticipation, many of us watched as The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge introduced Prince George to the world. While you may not have given birth to the heir of a royal throne, there is no reason you can’t enjoy practical parenting products fit for a little prince or princess.
Check out the Storksak Kate Red Label bag featured in the August issue of Earnshaw’s magazine.
‘A Place For Everything, And Everything In Its Place’ – that is Storksak’s formula for creating a baby changing bag which does the job wonderfully and looks beautiful too.
Today we are launching our Fathers’ Day competition, giving three lucky Storksak fans the chance to win a laptop bag from our brother brand, Marshall Bergman.
To enter, simply post a picture on our Facebook wall with the caption ‘I’ve Got It In The Bag!’ either of your Storksak packed, or with all your essential items laid around your bag*.
Remember not to edit the objects you find in your baby changing bag too much – bonus points for the weirdest items included in your photo!
We will pick three winners on Monday the 10th June, who will each be sent a Marshall Bergman Corbin man-bag worth £79.99 in time to treat Dad on Fathers’ Day.
*Please don’t cut open your Storksak though – you’ll regret it after you’ve posted your entry!
This morning we received this lovely feedback from a pleased customer. The little things like this made us very happy! Thank you Nicola, and we hope you continue to enjoy using your Storksak…
I have had my Olivia bag (moss) for 2 and 1/2 years now and its been the best £98 I’ve ever spent. It has withstood daily use carrying absolutely everything I could possibly need for my daughter and I don’t think I have ever been happier with a purchase.
It still looks as good as it did the day I bought it and I’m always complemented on my bag – most people do not realise its a baby changing bag.
When we have our second child I will look no where else for a new changing bag – I will buy another Storksak. And the only reason I am buying another one is because of the divine choice of colours the Olivia bag comes in.
Thank you for making such a wonderful bag that is not only superbly practical but stylish and chic and makes me proud to have it on my shoulder.
We have just added new photographs to some of our signature styles showing how they can be packed with a surprising amount of items, keeping everything organised and accessible when on the go with a little one in tow! See if you can spot which baby changing bags on our website have been carefully packed with love…

This year we celebrated our 10th Anniversary at the Storksak HQ. It seems amazing to think that it was ten years ago that Storksak founders, Suzi and Mel, first met and conceived Storksak the brand.
Ten years on, we are celebrating this milestone with a new arrival – the Elizabeth Leather Chalk. The Elizabeth is often seen as our signature style, having been our most popular choice for new mothers since it was launched in Spring/Summer ’07.
“I think what makes it so special is that is epitomises the ‘baby changing bag/handbag’ ethos of Storksak. Its design has never changed – it just seems to fit the bill for many mothers”
Mel, Creative Director and Co-Founder of Storksak
The ‘English Rose’ of our collection, the Elizabeth Chalk features an elegant, white rose lining and matching accessories. This bag has even been chosen by many of our stockists as the bag Kate Middleton would most covet! We can only dream…

On a recent trip to Belmont Children's Farm in Mill Hill, we spotted this handsome Stork and fell in love. They have a huge variety of animals, from alpacas to micro pigs, and provide a lovely learning experience for children. If you live in London and think you might like to visit, you can see their website here.
When Suzi and Melanie founded Storksak in 2003, they both had young children and were juggling family life with their careers. Another company who are doing the same are Belvoir Cards LLP, set up by Deborah and Nicki in Nottingham in 2011. All of their cards feature original photographs and are produced in Nottingham using a local family run printer. Our favourite is Smartie's Bad Hair Day! Have a look at their website here and see which you like best!
Yesterday we spotted a friendly face on the London Underground - the Jess, featured in the latest John Lewis poster celebrating their best British products!
